Marion Ave Travel & Lifestyle Blog
Marion Ave is a platform for me to write about my passion for travel, and particularly my experiences in London, England (both as a study abroad student and as a Program Assistant for FSU London). I write content about European travel, as well as “lifestyle” posts that I believe are relevant for my post-grad audience. I continue to develop my skills as a writer, photographer, and graphic designer. I also enjoy learning more about social media best practices and how to grow my brand.
I launched this self-hosted WordPress site in 2017, but began posting regularly in 2018. Marion Ave was the result of a difficult decision to rebrand. Prior to Marion Ave, I’d launched and written a YA book blog called Brooke Reviews, a platform for posting book reviews, creative writing advice, and interviews with published authors. The site stalled when I studied abroad in London for four months. It was at this time that I considered rebranding, and needed to decide whether to slowly transition with the current site or launch a brand new space with it’s own domain. Ultimately, I chose the latter, and have been happy that the new platform has allowed me to target a new audience.
Brooke Reviews YA Book Blog
As a passionate writer and avid reader, I launched Brooke Reviews as a space to share my love of YA novels and fiction writing. I interviewed 10 published authors on the site (including New York Times-bestselling author Marissa Meyer) and wrote 70+ YA book reviews. I also attended BookExpo America in 2015, and networked with publishing professionals, authors, and fellow book bloggers.
