I’m Brooke Harrison, a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Editing, Writing, Media. I have a passion for writing both creatively and professionally. I enjoy reading and critiquing other people’s work almost as much as I enjoy writing.
My blog Marion Ave is a platform for me to share my experiences and love for travel through the written word, and has also allowed me to learn more about branding, social media, and building websites. I’ve completed summer internships with Tallahassee Woman Magazine and Marvel Entertainment, where I was given opportunities to grow my writing and editing skills.
I’ve put together this portfolio to showcase the work I’ve done throughout my seven semesters of college. Each project challenged me to use familiar media in new and inventive ways. The projects I’ve featured are products of the following courses:
Reading, Writing, and Speaking in the Digital Age – Ned Stuckey-French
Writing and Editing in Print and Online (WEPO) – David Bedsole
Rhetoric – Bret Zawilski
Article and Essay Technique – David Parkes
Internship in Editing w/ Tallahassee Woman Magazine – Kim Rosier, publisher
Fiction Technique – Spencer Wise
Advanced Writing and Editing – Aimee Jones
